Volunteer Fire Department
The volunteer fire department provides excellent fire protection and emergency response to the residents in Gibbons and surrounding area. The Fire Department operates two trucks. The Rosenbauer 14' Walk-Around Rescue constructed on a Freightliner M2 106 4 door cab chassis. The chassis features a 300 HP Cummins ISC engine mated to an Allison EVS-3000 transmission. The Rosenbauer Top Mount Enclosed Pumpers assembled on Afreightliner MS 106 2 door cab and chassis. The chassis features a 350 HP Cummins ISC engine mated to an Allison EVS-3000 transmission. The apparatus carries a 1000 Imperial Gallon water tank, with 30 Imperial Gallons of Class "A" Foam. A Waterous CSB direct drive PTO pump moves water at a rate of 1050 Imperial Gallons per minute
Sturgeon Victim Services
The aftermath of a crime, natural disaster, accident or other emergency can be traumatic and overwhelming for a victim, their family and those that witnessed the event. Sturgeon Victim Services is a volunteer organization working in partnership with the Morinville RCMP to provide support, information and referrals of victims of crime or tragedy.
Rural Crime Watch Gibbons Zone
Designed to be the eyes and ears of the community, this program empowers the community to play an active role in policing. Members are hooked into the auto dialer system, which connects them to information regarding crime and disaster from the R.C.M.P. A membership fee of $15.00 per household will entitle you to the benefits of being involved with this worthwhile program. Applications may be picked up at the Town Office or at the R.C.M.P. Office in Morinville.
Sturgeon Rural Crime Watch
Sturgeon Rural Crime Watch Association has been serving the County since 1983. They act as additional eyes and ears for the RCMP throughout Sturgeon County.
Northeast Region Community Awareness Emergency Response (NR CAER)
NR CAER is a non-profit regional mutual aid emergency response association that links industry and three levels of government, enabling the effective sharing of emergency response equipment, skills, manpower and services between industry and the communities of: Fort Saskatchewan, Redwater, Morinville, Gibbons, Bruderheim, Edmonton Garrison (Namao), Josephburg, Lamont, Sturgeon and Strathcona Counties.
