The Town of Gibbons is rich in history and you can walk the tracks of the freight wagons that used to bring goods from Fort Edmonton to Athabasca Landing in the Late 1800's. Gibbons offers two kilometers of walking trails - part of the Trans Canada Trails's northern leg along the Sturgeon River in Echo Glen Park.

You can preview life in that era by visiting the Gibbons museum
or attend the annual Pioneer Days event held in late August.

Visit Longriders Campground and take a trail ride along the river valley and see the Battenburg tressel or enjoy a relaxing horse drawn wagon ride through the country side.
Don't forget to visit Goose Hummock and challenge their 6,700 yard championship golf course.

In September, Gibbons hosts their annual Town Wide Garage Sale. Tooted as one of the largest in Alberta, people from all over attend in hopes of finding that perfect bargain at the numerous stalls in the downtown area or at the assortment of household sales located throughout the community.

The days of the dinosaurs roar to life again in Jurassic Forest, a 40-acre prehistoric preserve, just minutes from Gibbons. Download the Jurasic Forest Brochure or visit www.jurasicforest.com for more information.
